Tallow Balm for Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive or reactive skin, you're careful about what you use - and rightly so. People with sensitive skin often look for the same things: a short ingredient list, no unnecessary additives, and a gentle scent. Our Lavender variant adds pure lavender essential oil, which research shows has comforting and soothing properties. Together, tallow and lavender work to calm irritation, reduce redness, and provide lasting relief from dryness and itching.
Cosmetic-Grade Tallow: What It Means
Not all tallow is the same. We use cosmetic-grade NZ grass-fed tallow - a premium, highly purified form processed specifically for skincare. It's completely odourless (no beef smell), silky smooth, and keeps the full spectrum of fat-soluble vitamins and beneficial fatty acids that make tallow such a good moisturiser.
It's the same standard of tallow used in premium skincare worldwide. It costs significantly more than food-grade, but the difference in purity and feel is why we insist on it.
How to Use
Warm a small amount between your fingertips
Apply to clean, slightly damp skin
Use on face, hands, body, or anywhere that needs nourishment
A note on texture: Taluna sets firm in the jar because it's pure whipped tallow, no water. Scoop a little, warm it between your fingers till silky, and it melts straight in.
For eczema or very dry skin, apply generously to affected areas twice daily - morning and evening. For facial use, a pea-sized amount is enough. Apply after cleansing while skin is still slightly damp for best absorption.
Especially effective as an evening face balm, overnight hand moisturiser, or dry patches, nappy rash, and irritated skin.
